Time for Show & Tell
It is with great enthusiasm that several of our members presented their respective recent and older projects.
JoAnne showed us an older calendar. On each month page, there is a center piece completed by different DCWS members.
Susan is learning tapestry weaving and she showed us a sample she completed recently.
Suzanne has been knitting a vest.
Dianne, as an Ashford dealer, brought a catalog of their products which can be ordered. She showed us silk and merino offered by Ashford.
Ellen presented us the following book: From a Square to a Circle
Delores Churchill, Haida weaver, shares the stories of her life, her culture and the importance of passing cultural knowledge from one generation to the next. Told with humility, humour and deep respect, From a Square to a Circle is a testament to the values of her people, a technical guide to her masterful weaving skills and a gift to the reader at every point along her journey.
Marie-José showed knitting bags that sewed with fabric that she wove. She incorporated to them different recycled fabrics.
We encourage anyone interested in fiber arts to come and see what we are up to.
We are meeting the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month (10:00 to 12:00) at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, 1319 Mills Road, North Saanich, BC. Our meeting schedule is HERE
