DCWS Meeting: January 13th

First 2026 Meeting 

Show & Tell and magazines / books review

Everyone is happy to be together again. Several announcements were made, including one informing us that our guild will have a sale at the beginning of October 2026 at the ArtSea Gallery located at theTulista Park, Sidney BC.

Several of us participated in the Show & Tell. 

Marie-José showed the rugs she has woven. The highlight is the latest one woven using the Krokgbragd structure. She brought the book written by Angie Parker which helped her to understand the technique.

Johanne make knitted felted slippers.

Wendy brought a BC wool skein made by Newavefibre.

 Jan told us a funny story about spinning this wool. The result and the colors are beautiful.

Also, she brought a blanket she made with mohair and wool.

Alix showed us fibre given to her by a friend. Looks interesting!

Heather brought a felted elf. She explained how she made a Christmas tree using a string made with a Turkish knot on her new loom.

JoAnne brought tea towels she made ( 8/2 cotton, 18 epi).

Beautiful projects and information. Thanks to everyone who participated to our first Show & Tell of the year.
