Fibre Filled Weekend

Its Fall and we have a weekend full of Fibre related events happening.

1) Tzouhalem Spinners & Weavers Guild invites you to their annual show & sale October 25-27.
Admission free. Everyone welcome.

2) Cowichan Fleece & Fibre Fair – Saturday, October 26, 10am - 4pm
Join us for a glorious gathering of all things fibre: hand-dyed yarn, hand-spun yarn, rovings, woven goods, fleece, knitted fashion, felting & oodles of fibre-lover's paraphernalia. Fun shopping, tasty lunch and plenty of camaraderie. A feast for the senses!

Welcome Back for 2019-2020

The DCWS Guild held their first meeting after the summer break.  There was a good number of returning members and we encourage anyone wishing to join to drop in and meet the group.  Meetings are Tuesday mornings from 10 - Noon at the Shoal Centre in Sidney.  No fee for an initial drop in - annual membership is $65 per year.

Members were still enthusiastic from participating at the Saanich Fall Fair as was evident with the ribbons on our show & tell table.

We had a lively discussion on our upcoming Show & Sale - 'Fibre Fantasia' will be on at the ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park, Sidney.  September 27 - October 3rd.  Open from 10am to 4pm.
Demonstrations will be happening throughout the show.

Summer Guild Activies

We are nearing the end of summer break and gearing up for the Fall season at the Guild.
Many of us are finalizing our entries for the Saanich Fall Fair and preparing items for our Show & Sale and the end of September.
Members of the DCWS Guild will be at the Saanich Fall Fair on Sunday, September 1st.  Outside the needlework building.  Drop by and see what we are up to!

A group of spinners gather at the ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park, Sidney on Tuesday mornings 10 - noon.  All are welcome to join in - bring another project if you don't spin or just come by and get caught up with some Guild members.




DCWS will be featured in the upcoming SeaSide magazine (September Issue)- highlighting our "Fibre Fantasia" show & sale - September 27 - October 3rd.

Our first regular meeting will be September 10th - at the Shoal Centre.  New members welcome.
Dues for 2019 - 2020 remain at $65 for the year.

AGM June Meeting

The Deep Cove Weavers and Spinners held their AGM on June 4th and the following members have agreed to serve as the Executive for the 2019-2020 year.

We will not be meeting over the summer months, but will hold our informal 'Spinning Group' meetings outside the ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park, Sidney on Tuesday mornings.  Everyone is welcome to come by and spin, knit or just visit in this great location.
Regular meetings will resume at the Shoal Centre on September 10th.
Members will be working hard over the summer in preparation for:
'Fibre Fantasia'  - DCWS Show & Sale  at ArtSea Gallery on September 27- October 3rd.
