ANDREA
Wow! What a colourful experience having Andrea Revoy at our Guild meeting this Tuesday morning.
Andrea describes herself as a Ceramic Artists who is also a 'fibre junkie'. She resides in Creston, BC and clearly enjoys travelling and sharing her love of both ceramics and fibre. Having come straight from Fibres West in Cloverdale, Andrea brought along a bright array of hand dyed fibre, ceramic yarn bowls and buttons.
Andrea has been weaving for 6 or 7 years and finds the Saori philosophy suites her free spirited approach to Fibre Art. She recently taught herself to spin and again her free spirit shines through in her work. We were delighted as she demonstrated spinning straight from a bat which she created on her giant carder from randomly selected fibres. Adding a 'salad bowl' of various fibres to her spinning was also intriguing.

Here are a few of the techniques Andrea showed us. It all looked pretty simple when she did it and the finished products are amazing thanks to her eye for colour and texture.

We certainly enjoyed having Andrea at our meeting. It's safe to say she really did brighten up our day! For more information about Andrea and Blue Moon Pottery visit her website at: www.andrearevoy.com
