A New Year - A New Challenge
Our Program coordinators have issued a new challenge for the DCWS Guild members. The theme is 'Flower Power" We are challenged to find a flower related inspiration and create a unique item for show and tell at the last meeting in February. At our January 7th meeting we browsed books full of suggestions for: felted, knitted & beaded flowers; flower inspired bags, woven articles using colour scheme from pictures of flowers and weave structures such as rose path. What a great way to start the new year and get the creative juices flowing Can't wait to see the finished products.
Get thinking about the power of flowers!!
Kumihimo is coming!
We are excited to have Shirley Berlin come to our January 14th meeting to tell us about a Japanese style of braiding that has been around for over a thousand years. Come and join the fun and see the beauty of Kumihimo.
January is a long month and there are no shortage of things to see and do in the fibre world. Have a look at our Events & News page to see a bit of what's happening in our area.
Here are a few inspirational pictures from our first 'show & tell' of the New Year. Great stories and beautiful items.
