DCWS ... Summers Over

Welcome back to DCWS Guild members attending our regular Tuesday morning meetings at the Shoal Centre in Sidney.  Dues are being collected at the meetings throughout the month of Sept. and the 2016-17 membership list will be created early October.  We had a good turnout for our first back to business meeting last Tuesday.
Highlights of the meeting were creations from the summer challenge "Celebrating with Fibre" and our 'Show & Tell' which featured may prize winning items from the Saanich Fall Fair.  Some of these items will be featured in our upcoming Exhibition "Fun with Fibre", which will be on display at the Sidney Museum the entire month of October.

Fun at the 2016 Fall Fair

The DCWS joined in the Fun at the 2016 Saanich Fall Fair.  Hands on demonstrations on our small portable looms were popular in the big tent outside the Needleworks and Crafts Building entrance.  Dave, Patty and Eileen were on their feet most of the day demonstrating their weaving techniques.

Elaine was busy working the Carder and Jan had an interesting off loom project (lampshade)?

The Deep Cove Weavers and Spinners were amongst the prize winners in the main exhibition building.  A sampling of the award winning works .....
